  • When to migrate versus when to not
  • Assess rational for modernization of the cluster of applications that support chosen business capabilities
  • Assess application capabilities relationship to service portfolio, including solving duplication issues and standardization opportunities
  • Define architecture that facilitates transition and retirement as necessary
  • An understanding of trends such as DevOps, Microservices and Platform as a service and the roles they play in modernization
