Overview

Every decade we see massive changes in the IT industry. In the 80s we saw desktop computing flourish, and progressed to a client server model in the 90s. Mobile computing grew quickly in 2000 and beyond. 2017 presents a variety of technologies that may deliver IT efficiencies on a grand scale. Technologies and trends such as AI and Advanced Machine Learning, Intelligent Apps, Intelligent Things, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Digital Twin, Blockchain and Distributed Ledgers, Conversational System, Mesh App and Service Architecture, Digital Technology Platforms, Adaptive Security Architecture., and others may be game changers. How will you capitalize on these technologies, but more importantly how will your Enterprise Architecture embrace the digital world to support all the changes?

Conference Program

8:00am – 9:00am: Registration and Continental Breakfast

9:00am-9:50am: Effective EA Leadership Through Innovation and Business Strategy

How can EA strengthen leadership technically within IT and credibility with the business? Where should EA start if it wants to conquer both?

In this session attendees will learn:

  • How to take ownership of the major trends and challenges affecting the enterprise architecture and technology innovation leaders
  • How to deliver the highest value leveraging EA to drive innovation
  • Where to invest in leadership skills and competencies needed to capitalize in the digital age

9:50am -10:20am: Refreshment Break

10:20am-11:10am: Enterprise Architecture Enabling Digital Business Transformation

Enterprise Architecture (EA) is the technical framework of an enterprise but it also transcends technology and integrates with the business. Therefore, the discussion and implementation of EA needs to done in an integrated, holistic manner. An integrated EA (business and technical) can provide the necessary support for a business transformation that makes the business ready for the variety of business and technological challenges it will face. For example, technologies such Big Data, mobile and cloud computing are all highly disruptive technologies that require a fine balance between their business and technical aspects as the organization moves forward.

In this session, attendees will learn how to they need to reinvent and/or refine their EA to embrace a digital transformation.

Content that will be covered:

  • How to drive business agility
  • An agile approach to drive business agility
  • How to pull together Cloud, mobile, Agile development, and DevOps to drive rapid product development

11:10am-12:00pm: Technical Architecture: Containers, Kubernetes and Microservices

Containers enable the transition to a service-based architecture, which is scalable and agile. Kubernetes has emerged as the de facto standard for orchestrating these services.

This session will look at the business value of deploying microservices infrastructure.

12:00pm – 1:00pm Luncheon

1:00pm-1:50pm: Digitally Transform Your Customer Engagement Channels: A Journey That Starts with Enterprise Architecture

Digital transformation is not limited to enabling new technologies; it modifies the way we run our business, reshapes the traditional boundaries between business and IT and changes the way we interact with our customers.

Effective EA teams can play a key role in enabling organizations’ digital transformation by leveraging their holistic view of the ever-changing business needs, new products and revenue models, the technology evolution of each interaction channel, and the organizational realignment for speed, agility and operational efficiency. This technology-driven transformation is an ideal opportunity for EAs to increase their value to the organization and become an even more essential advisor to C-level decision makers.

In this session, you will learn how to design an architecture that enables an integrated and consistent customer experience while monetizing foundational IT investments across channels. We will discuss some of the most common challenges and tradeoff decisions you should consider when designing an Omnichannel-enabling architecture.

1:50pm-2:40pm: EA Governance, Projects Management and Continuous Improvement – How to get it right?

Have you ever wondered if there is a better way to deliver projects while keeping PMO, Enterprise Architecture, Continuous Improvement and Business Relationship teams happy? If so, join this session for some practical ideas on how to make it happen.

2:40pm – 3:10pm: Refreshment Break

3:10pm-4:00pm: EA and Business Alignment: How to Gain Build Commitment And Engagement For Change

Real change is dependent on engaging colleagues and creating alignment. EAs can help drive change and foster engagement using tools that build the appetite for change, encourage ownership, and break through silos.

4:00pm-5:00pm: Creating a Value Proposition for a Business-Outcome-Driven EA Program

Panelists:
Sergey Chernov, Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture & Program Management, Ensono
and other Enterprise Architecture Executives

Many enterprises are either starting, restarting, refocusing or rebuilding their EA program. But how do you insure that your EA program is business driven? How do you successfully develop and sell a value proposition to their organization?

In this session, attendees will learn from senior level enterprise architects:

  • Why it’s important to create a value proposition
  • What you should include in the value proposition
  • How should sell the value prop
